Marbek Nativity

Okay, here's my pride and joy! :) A great-uncle of mine used to always give me little crafty things whenever I would see him. When he passed away, I used the money he left me to buy this frame, all the supplies, patterns, fabric, etc to make this!

We haven't painted our walls yet, so it looks a little bit boring on the beige wall! Most times when people see it, they don't even know it's stitched!

Well I think it is stunning and a piece that you will always remember with a smile because of the way you got it....what a lovely tribute to a generous man you loved ;)

*thud* I just love looking at this piece!! Do you display it all year round? I certainly would!! That is WAY too beautiful, and way too much stitching time NOT to show it off!!! :) You even have it in the special frame---you go girl!! I think this is my all-time favorite nativity design, which is saying a lot, because I'm a nativity nut! One of these days I hope to get this one--but I don't want to get it and not stitch it, so I'll finish my "to do" first. lol

Thanks for posting your beautiful picture. I bought the kit, thread, everything except the frame about 15 years ago. Several career goals, and two children have given me excuses not to start. I have been energized by your post!
